Zimbabwean beauty to contest in international Pageant in Spain

UNITED Kingdom-based model, Nokuthaba Vuma is set to represent Zimbabwe at the Miss Intercontinental Beauty pageant to be held in Spain on October 7, 2011. She will compete with other beauty queens from all over the world for the coveted crown.The 18-year-old model is the current Miss May in the Face of Zimbabwe contest, a crown that has seen her becoming an ambassador of Zimbabwe to the UK. The vivacious model is looking to follow in the footsteps of Vanessa Sibanda, who was recently crowned second runner-up in the Top Model of the World contest held in Germany in March.

The Bulawayo-born catwalk queen was discovered when she took in the Face of Zimbabwe contest and she has not looked back ever since her big break. The pencil slim model has stepped up her preparations for the contest and she is currently taking grooming lessons from businesswoman Hilda Mulenga who also was also responsible for the success that is Vanessa Sibanda.

A spokesperson from Face of Africa said that they were delighted that the model would have a chance of representing Zimbabwe. “Face of Zimbabwe is about creating a platform for Zimbabweans all over the world to show the best of their country wherever they are through beauty, charity and tourism and Nokuthaba’s participation in Miss Intercontinental is an epitome of that,” he said. The model would be dressed by one of the fast-rising fashion label, Chenai Chic, who have dressed other Zimbabwean models before.

Nokuthaba’s parents, who have supported her throughout her modelling career have appealed for sponsorship to assist their daughter with some her personal expenses before and during the pageant. Apart from contesting in the pageant, Vuma is also the reigning Miss Valentine 2011 and the Miss Coventry second runner up and Miss Face of Derby.
