Buffalo Souljah dominating South African Airwaves



Award winning Zimbabwean artists based in South African, Buffalo Souljah is rocking SA’s airwaves with the collaboration he did with Angolan, Cabo Snoop. Cabo Snoop is popular for the house song, Windeck which is rocking clubs in Africa.

The duo’s song Styra Inonyengesa`is currently being played on the music channel, Channel ‘O’. The song goes like ‘Cabo Snoop ane stayera inonyengesa, Buffalo ane stayera inonyengesa. Vane stayera inonyengesa hapana zvinovanetsa…’ Buffalo Souljah has made a big name for himself both in South Africa and Africa at large. 
His real name is Thabani Ndlovu and he began singing at a tender age and later joined several rap and R&B groups before settling for reggae. He grew up in the high density suburb of Mufakose and after high school joined the group Intelligent Racuss Cruuks in 1996. With this group they had three afro hip hop albums which did not do well, resulting in him trying his luck in Mzansi.

He then headed to the neighbouring South Africa hunting for a record deal where he started collaborating with South African artists. While in South Africa he joined many groups which include Street Disciples exploring various music genres until he found his home in reggae. Buffalo Souljah has also done collaborations with former Miss Tourism Zimbabwe Vanessa Sibanda on the song Hey Lover.

Cabo Snoop, real name Ivo Manuel Lemus is a 21-year-old Angolan who has made a name for himself in Africa. He is a Kuduro music artist which is a type of music and dance. Born in Angola, his music is characterised as up-tempo, energetic, and danceable. Snoop is also an award winning artist thanks to the response he got from the hit song Windeck.

In 2010 he received the Best Lusophone artist at the MTV Africa Music Awards. He also managed to get Fat Joe to feature on his hit song Windeck. As he was growing up he started performing with a dance group but his heart was in music. He earned the nickname Cabo Snoop because ‘he is skinny and tall like “Snoop Dog.”
