Cabo Snoop and Buffalo Souljah collabo riding high

                                                         Buffalo Souljah
CABO Snoop, one of the continent's best known house music superstars, is riding high on DStv's Channel O music station with a new video which he features Zimbabwe's own Buffalo Souljah and his ally Dj Waxxy. The video is already receiving heavy rotation on Channel O and Buffalo shines on the video as he laces his Shona lyrics over a thumbing bassline.

Apparently, Cabo Snoop's music, particularly the world hit "Windeck", assured his foothold in the international house music scene when he collaborated with hitmakers such as Fat Joe and South Africa's JR. Further collaborations with Busta Rhymes and our own Black Coffee are on the cards. He got his first taste of the entertainment scene as a member of the dance group The Crazy Boyz. He joined Dr Fu Hochi's The Power House label as a technical assistant and it was through working there that he got the nickname Cabo Snoop.

"Cabo" - because the record label has a producer with a military regime and "Snoop" - because he is skinny and tall like Snoop Dogg. This week he was nominated for an MTV Europe (Best International Artist) gong.
The 20-year-old has always had a love for Angola's kuduro sound, house music, hip-hop, break dancing and R&B.

His first recorded song was titled "Warap entaum". Pleased with the results, producer IVM Beatz conceived the dance-floor hit "Windeck" and asked Cabo Snoop to lay vocals on the catchy tune.

The track catapulted the young artist into the mainstream music industry (chart-topping stints around the continent, packed venues in the Netherlands, Portugal, Nigeria, Ghana, Namibia, Mozambique and more). This saw the release of his debut album, Bluetooth, as well as a DVD titled Email. - Sowetan/Entertainment Reporter.
