Mic Inity finds new home

Mic Inity
HARARE’S MOST sought-after reggae crooner, Mic Inity - real name Mike Madamombe - has found a new home in the capital for his midweek parties. The 28-year-old chanter will be jamming on Wednesdays at the exquisite Club Monako situated at Chisipiti shopping centre. Mic Inity has vowed to usher out all his artistic verve as he opens the 2012 season at the new joint.

And he promised to satisfy all his followers that have been starved of midweek parties after the closure of Mannenberg Jazz Club and Book Café where he built a strong fan base prior to the closure of the joint.
"I am now jamming at Club Monako on Wednesdays for my midweek parties. My fans have been a starved of such (midweek parties) and I feel I should take care of their needs. "I promise yet another eventful season and hopefully my fans will really appreciate my stuff as before," he said.

Mic Inity however conceded that they have started the year on a bad note after his 23-year-old drummer Tatenda "sticks" Kanjota committed suicide."We will surely miss him. He was a vital cog in the band. We will only salute him for his great artistry by keeping the fire burning. We will also remember him through our live shows," he added. WHILE Mic Inity and his Hotta Fya Band have been mourning losing their drummer, at least they have been consoled after they got another slot for their midweek parties.

The crooner was only left with a single slot on Fridays at Red Fox and he can afford to continue building his fan base. Mic Inity, a product of Transit Crew, has made a sound name for himself by playing mainly cover versions. After honing his skills at the Transit Crew, he never looked back ever since he assembled his own Hotta Fya Band.
