Promoters collaborate for Mavado show

Movado
Zimbabwean promoters Clint Robinson of C&A Entertainment and Eddie Gwenzi of Biggman Promotions have taken a collaborative approach towards the hosting of international artists. The two promoters will be collaborating for the holding of the Mavado show at the Aquatic Complex in Chitungwiza on Saturday when the Jamaican dancehall musician performs.

Speaking in an interview Gwenzi, who last year hosted the Lutan Fyah concert, said they had decided to collaborate with Robinson for the Chitungwiza gig so that they can come up with a better package. “The best packages in the showbiz industry come from collaborations so we decided to give it a go at the Mavado show in Chitungwiza,” said Gwenzi.

Robinson confirmed the development and said he was open to working with anyone in showbiz. “Collaborations reduce stress of managing the shows and enhance efficiency. “If we can put our heads together for a good cause then we will have a good package,” said Robinson. Local artists Sniper Storm, Guspy Warrior, Lady Squanda, Lady B and Freeman will curtain-raise for Mavado.

Winky D will also take to the stage performing with a live band. Robinson said they would give all artists equal opportunities. “As a promoter, I believe in giving artists equal opportunities to market themselves.  “I hope the artists will use the opportunity to expand their fan bases,” said Robinson. Mavado was expected to touch down at Harare International Airport on Wednesday night.
