Manyeruke’s passion for farming

GOSPEL supremo Baba Machanic Joseph Manyeruke might be keeping a low profile but the decorated singer insists is not down and out - yet. After releasing his 25th album entitled "Muchandiziva Here?" in 2011, shortly after his return from the United States of America, the iconic Manyeruke pledged to go back to the stage and hold more shows. However, it emerged that the singer has been concentrating on his farming project in his rural home of Chiundura in the Midlands Province.

Although it could not be ascertained whether he was into commercial or subsistence farming, sources close to the singer said Manyeruke was now a full-time farmer. "He says he will be back on stage soon but now he is busy with his farming. "We expect him to back in action around April. "He just loves what he is doing and like music, farming is passion and hopefully he will be back in action soon," said an impeccable source within the family.

"It also appears he has scaled down on local shows as he now prefers international tours like the one he had last year when he went to the USA, where he won an award," added the source. Manyeruke confirmed his sabbatical from music: "Many might wonder whether am still in the industry or not. For now I am concentrating on farming and I am not quite sure when I will be able to resume shows," he said. (Herald)
