Andy Brown |
The burial of the late musician Andy Brown, which was scheduled for today, has been postponed to tomorrow. A family member said they were waiting for his children and brother from abroad. The artist, who passed on last Friday, will be buried at his rural home in Mberengwa.
Speaking to NewsDay yesterday, Sandra Tatenda Mashiringo, Brown’s sister, said they expected his children today.“We are expecting his firstborn Devona today together with Chengeto (begotten with Chiwoniso Maraire) and my brother Ushe.
Devona stays in New Zealand, Chengeto in the United States, while Ushe is flying in from Germany,” said Mashiringo. One of Brown’s children, Amara, who had gone for recording in South Africa, arrived on Monday.
Brown succumbed to pneumonia on Friday afternoon at Parirenyatwa Hospital. His wife Nadine said he had been unwell for some time, but his health deteriorated due to extremely cold conditions in Sweden where he was touring last month. He is survived by 10 children, two with Maraire.
