Gospel couple Charles and Namatai Chipanga, who front Chalenam Rhythms music group, will on March 30 officially launch the beginning of the Gospel Hub, a series of the first ever Friday night gospel shows.

After realising the need for local gospel musicians to have a place where they are easily accessed and where Christians from all walks of life can meet, chat and enjoy live music on Friday nights, the two love birds came up with the Gospel Hub.

“It is a place where Christian talent will be broadcast, new Christian talent discovered, nurtured and developed and our long-term goal is to bring International artist as well to do workshops, grooming and also perform in The Gospel Hub, the visionary,” said Charles Chipanga.

He said the event would take place at the Glad Tidings, Tabernacle of Grace church venue, former Rainbow Cinema in Parklane until they acquired their own venue. Chipanga said the Gospel Hub would be the first of its kind, a place where Christians can mingle, listen to gospel music, eat and have fun.

“The official launch on March 30 will be the first of many shows to come because when we grow, we will have them from once a month to fortnightly,” he said. Chipanga said their major goal was to uplift the name of God through gospel music as well as have various Christians in one place regardless of denomination.

He said through the event upcoming gospel artists would get a platform to expose their talents, grooming in stage performances and advice on their presentation.

“For the already established artists it is a platform to gain another fan base from fans of other artists and they will be allowed to market and sell their CDs.” He said they would put a strong foundation for the event in Harare first before reaching out to other cities nationwide.

The first show this month will have a line-up of talented musicians, Sebatian Magacha, Mechanic Manyeruke and the Chipangas. culled from Newsday
