Zimbabwe’s Makosi Musambasi says she is starting her television show she calls, MakosiToday. The show seeks to empower and entertain Africans. Makosi, holed up in Nigeria after being denied entry into the UK says : “As you can depict from the name, is a current affairs lifestyle show, scripted to educate, empower and entertain.

It is a download of success, prosperity, health, fashion, wealth, vision, direction, ingenuity, creativity, spirituality, peace and resourcefulness…did I mention beauty? Makosi continues :”For decades, up until now, Africa has been a continent that everyone pitied, we have received enough aid by now to be able to stand alone… But what was forgotten as all this aid was flowing in was empowerment, which means we got depended more on what someone can do for us and stopped thinking about what we can do for ourselves as a people.

This in turn has made us vulnerable to terrorists ( those who take advantage of the peace that is hugely taken for granted by the masses) and a new breed of terrorism which is intellectual terrorists.” She says through live interviews, documentaries and light entertainment her show will engage the minds of the youth and make aware the issues Africa faces today.

“The MakosiToday Show will restore patriotism in the young African, who is, to be honest, at the verge of giving up on Africa ( Egypt, Libya, Zimbabwe,Nigeria) with the view that the grass is greener in the other side, our motto or the core of our mission statement is …the grass is not greener on the other side… it is greener where you water it.”

She says the show will air on several Nigerian neworks such as Ben TV, HITV, NTA, AIT AND MNET Nigeria. Makosi does not say when the show will air but is seeking audiences though the show’s website, makositoday.com.
