Miss Bulawayo, Bongani Dlakama has been crowned Miss Zimbabwe 2012. She beat a bevy of 29 beauties from all corners of Zimbabwe who were vying for the title. Bongani who is a student at the Midlands State University will represent Zimbabwe at the Miss World finals later this year.

Superstar Oliver Mtukudzi performed on the night as well as others. The pageant, which was supposed to be held in February, has been experiencing hitches and this is the third time that the date had been changed.
Miss Zimbabwe Trust has been failing to source funds for the event following the withdrawal of the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority sponsorship.
The girls arrived in the capital from their various provinces during the weekend. Kiki Divaris, patron of the Miss Zimbabwe Trust, said she had remained very passionate about the pageant and would like to see it scaling greater heights.
“I am so thankful to the government for recognising that we can do something for the society.” Meanwhile, a musical compilation titled I am Zimbabwean, has been produced by various musicians in support of the Miss Zimbabwe beauty pageant.
