Sungura musician Alick Macheso has agreed to join Mutodi Stars, the band led by businessman Energy Mutodi. Macheso has agreed to a deal that will be sealed this morning during a breakfast meeting at Harare’s Jazz 105.
The two musicians will meet at 10am today to sign a deal that will be witnessed by several music promoters, among them Jazz 105 director Josh Hozheri and City Sports Bar director Biggie Chinoperekwei.
The development comes after press media exchanges between the two musicians over Mutodi’s recruitment of four band members from Utakataka Express fronted by Peter “Igwe” Moyo.
Mutodi was accused by Macheso of also trying to recruit one of his members. The deal will see Macheso join Mutodi Stars for an undisclosed fee. It will also end the hostility between the two.
