Band to desert Allan Chimbetu over pay

Allan Chimbetu
Struggling Dendera music exponent, Allan Chimbetu, has not been paying his band their dues for weeks now. They are demanding that he steps aside and let his son, Douglas lead the band.

The entire Orchestra Dendera Kings (Central Committee) claimed that they had gone for weeks without pay. Allan has refused to tell them when they will get any money. The furious 12-member group said they now prefer working under the directorship of Douglas.

"We no longer want to work under Allan; we now want Douglas to take over. Allan is not giving us bonuses and salaries, he is very greedy," said bassist Tafadzwa Museka.Museka said Allan only comes to shows for few minutes and takes away all the money.

"He is not even coming to shows in time, we do the job with Douglas and he only comes for less than an hour and takes all the proceeds. This man is a problem. Remember the issue of Suluman, now he is likely to lose us to his own son," he explained.

Contacted for comment, Allan said he was busy and could only respond to the matter later. He then switched off his mobile phone.
