Maneta |
Zimbabwe’s Maneta Mazanhi is not a happy bunny in the Big Brother Africa house. The 23-year-old, saved from eviction on the TV show last Sunday, found herself in the subdivision Upville house with seven African celebrities, including the Zimbabwean sex maniac and singer Roki.
Bulawayo-born Maneta said her new housemates were stuck-up and admitted she missed Downville where “everyone is carefree”. “It is very different here. In the other house, everyone was carefree, mad and out there. In Upville, everyone thinks they are special,” she wailed in the Diary Room.
“They are narrow-minded in that sense and hold grudges. These guys don’t give each other room to fix their relationships.” Just as well Maneta was blissfully unaware what some of her new housemates thought of her.
“Big Brother, that girl is not strong-headed, she’s cement-headed,” South African model and events manager Barbz opined. Big-chested Maneta has found herself the centre of Roki’s loving attentions.
But the Bulawayo lass seemed well aware of Roki’s reputation as a baby factory — newspaper reports say he has at least five children with an equal number of mothers. Roki told Maneta she was “so . . . pretty”, adding for good effect: “I could walk away and still have your face in my head.”
Appearing less than enthused, Maneta encouraged him: “Walk!” “I’m not walking away from you,” Roki recovered as he moved closer hoping for a clinch. Maneta would have none of it, barking at her compatriot: “Stay there!”
In the end, Roki had downgraded her ambitions, begging Maneta: “Please hug me, that’s all.” And after Maneta delivered her final snub, declaring: “I’m done!” Roki could not hide his disappointment at the rejection.
“I hate you so . . . much,” he said, careful to ensure the microphones picked up his final words for TV viewers at home — but not the target of his frustrations who had walked back inside, shutting the door and Roki — behind her.
