Maneta, Roki kicked out of Big Brother - the details

Disqualified from BBA Maneta
ZIMBABWE'S Big Brother Africa housemates Rockford ‘Roki’ Josphats and Maneta Musanhi are headed home after being kicked out of the M-Net TV show for violence.

They are the third and fourth housemates to be sent home for breaching the violence rule which states that physical attacks, provocation, goading, bullying and victimisation are strictly prohibited. The first to go last week was Ghana’s DKB for slapping Zainab of Sierra Leone. Show bosses decided Zainab had contributed to the situation by provoking DKB.

Tuesday’s dramatic events were sparked by Roki pouring water over Maneta’s head, who hit back by throwing a bottle of cleaning fluid in Roki’s face. After gathering the housemates, Big Brother announced: “Maneta and Roki you have both contravened the provocation rule, repeatedly. Roki you intentionally provoked Maneta by pouring water over her head. Maneta, you then threw cleaning fluid in Roki’s face. “Maneta, you also threatened to stab Roki. This after you had both thrown fluids over each other earlier in the day.

“Big Brother asked you both to show restraint – and neither of you did. As you are both no doubt aware, you have left Big Brother with absolutely no choice. In terms of the House Rules you have both been disqualified from the game.” The decision was met with shock from other housemates.

“No! Biggie no!," pleaded Ghana’s Keitta. Namibia's Lady May and the Kenyan Prezzo wiped away tears. The show’s producers Endemol said the two Zimbabweans would be provided with psychological treatment and counselling to assist them with conflict and anger management.

The disqualification means Zimbabwe has no more representatives on the show, after Maneta’s sister, Teclar, was evicted in the first week. Maneta and Roki’s relationship has deteriorated since the 21-year-old Bulawayo lass was moved from the Downville House to Upville where Roki and six other African celebrities were housed.

After Maneta turned down Roki’s romantic advances, the 27-year-old singer responded by nominating his compatriot for eviction. Maneta returned the favour last week but evictions were cancelled because of the disqualification of DKB and Zainab.

On Monday, Maneta learned that she had picked up four nominations and was up for eviction next Sunday – and she would have known Roki had set her up for the chop.
