Pauline, Tererai in Zim Olympics song

Popular urban grooves artists Tererai Mugwadi and Pauline Gundidza have featured in a song entitled Sizophakama which is meant to encourage participants of the 2012 London Olympics. The song which was produced by ABRA Records features artists such as Njabulo “Tytan” Nkomo, Joseph “Josmas” Mashoko and Tawanda “Jusa Demantor” Sibotshiwe, Chipo and Tafirenyika Mushuku.It is sung in Shona, Ndebele and English. Sizophakama identifies with different audiences in Zimbabwe bringing the sense of oneness ahead of the Olympics. In an interview with NewsDay, ABRA Records chief executive officer Simukai Mandizvidza, better known as Abra Simzz, said the song was a voice of support to Zimbabwean representatives.

“This song continues to show the effort young Zimbabweans are making to represent the nation through unification and patriotism on a whole different level that aspires to grow not just the entertainment industry, but to realise the relationship between all industries by having them support one another.

“It is a voice of support for all our participants to soldier on and make the nation proud,” he said. Sizophakama comes with the support of Zimbabwe Olympic Committee under Revolutionary Independent Zimbabwean Entrepreneurs initiative, a movement which promotes self-belief, unity and creative entrepreneurship among Zimbabweans.
