KATEKWE superstar Oliver Mtukudzi is expected to ignite a revelling mood at popular Harare nightspot Londoner Sports Bar in his maiden performance billed for tonight. Tuku, as he is affectionately known by his legion of fans, will share the stage with afro-jazz artiste Josh Meki of the “Bvompfo” fame and the David Machowa-led theatrical group Apama Styles.

Entertainment manager of the Strathaven-located bar Mr Harpers Mapimhidze said: “We are humbled to host Tuku for the first time under our roofs. His music is a present to regular revellers that frequent our joint.”Mapimhidze assured revellers of a high-octane show, adding that they had since finalised preparations for the show.

“We are expecting a bumper crowd and there will be tight security in our parking lots, full bar and catering for those who are going to attend the show,” Mapimhidze said. Meck, who performed hits such as “Wanetsa” featuring Steve Dyer, “We are One” and “Sarura Ude” said he was elated to join Tuku on stage for the first time, adding: “It is indeed an honour and a privilege for my musical career. I will obviously learn a lot from him.” Herald
