50 Cent |
50 Cent is on the mend after being hurt in a car accident last week. The New York rapper was in his SUV being chauffeured when a Mack truck rammed into the back of his vehicle, which almost caused it to flip over. Fif and the driver suffered only minor neck injuries in the fender-bender and are grateful to be alive.
In an exclusive interview with MTV, 50 recounts what actually happened on that day and why he credits his bulletproof SUV for saving his life.
“We were just riding down the [Long Island Expressway] and a Mack truck — he said he lost control of the vehicle later to police officers because his load shifted,” he recalled. “He tried to brake, his load shifted and he lost control and he ran into the back of the truck. [My vehicle] did more damage to the Mack truck than it did to my truck, ’cause I got a level six; it’s a bulletproof vehicle. It’s the same standard as what they’re moving [President] Obama around in.”
“We spun off into the rail,” he continued. “We would’ve flipped if it was a regular truck, but the truck weighs over a ton because it has additional stuff in it.”
Thankfully, Fiddy is doing well and will be back on his grind promoting his upcoming new album ‘Five (Murder by Numbers),’ which is due out on July 3. Some have speculated that Fif planned his unfortunate car accident to drum up publicity for his new project. Not so, says 50.
“Trust me, I have enough money to not hit myself with a Mack truck to try to get a few dollars,” he said. Popcrush
