Roki to collaborate with Nigeria's Wizkid

Roki
The Big Brother Africa (BBA) game has its advantages and disadvantages, but when one enters the game, they should know what they want to achieve from it in the long run, considering the fact that all the housemates who do not win walk out empty handed.

Therefore before entering the show, housemates should have their priorities right as there are a lot of risks involved in being part of the show, including loss of employment and social discrimination after failing to impress in the house.

While in the house, Roki made it clear that he was in the game to promote his musical career. He told fellow housemates that he wanted to have music collaborations with different artistes after leaving the house and even agreed to work with housemates who were musicians, on different tracks.

Weeks down the line, it seems like his strategy is paying off. He will soon accomplish his mission as he is set to collaborate with Nigeria’s Wizkid who is a talented singer, song-writer and performer. Bybit Areketa, Roki’s manager, said talks were at an advanced stage between Wizkid and Roki’s management.

Roki to mingle with fans in Mutare

Roki
Big Brother Africa (BBA) Stargame fans will have an opportunity to mingle with Rockford Josphats, or simply Roki in Mutare at the Pavillion Sports club on Friday. Roki, who was disqualified from the game last month after fighting with fellow countryman Maneta Mazanhi, will travel to Mutare for the party on Friday.

The Chidzoka hit-maker seems to be playing popular back home judging from the success of his events. A welcome party held for him two weeks ago at the Red Bar in Harare was sold out. He also left fans crying for more at the Harare International Conference Centre last weekend when he performed at Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi’s farewell gig.

ROKI rocks Harare

The concert at the Harare International Conference Centre on Saturday, brought together two of Zimbabwe’s biggest names in entertainment, Oliver Mtukudzi and Sulumani Chimbetu, but the loudest cheers of the evening were saved for urban grooves bad boy Roki.

Over 4 000 people made their way to the venue for the gig, Tuku’s last show before he goes on tour which will see him performing with another Zimbabwean great, Alick Macheso in the United Kingdom.

Roki wasn’t even on the original line-up for the show, because when it was mooted by Josh Hozheri and the Jazz 105 team, he was still in the Big Brother Africa house in South Africa. Come his disqualification just over a week ago and his subsequent return home the promoters saw an opportunity to add an exciting twist to the concert and signed him on to perform.

Harare parties with Roki

Harare came out on Saturday night to party with Roki at his official welcome home bash held at Red Bar in Newlands.

The ousted Big Brother Africa housemate arrived a quarter of an hour after midnight in a chauffeur-driven Toyota Prado with his manager Bybit, girlfriend Melody and buddy Lovedale.

Not as many people as had been expected came out though as there had been fears earlier that the small venue would not be adequate for the gig.
Roki was ushered into the VIP area of the club through a back entrance where he chilled a bit with close friends before he came out onto the DJ’s platform much to the ecstatic delight of guests. There were loud screams as he greeted Zimbabwe and thanked people for all the support.

On Roki ground

On Tuesday, Zimbabwe’s hopes of landing another Big Brother cash prize were shattered after the country’s two representatives, Roki and Maneta, were disqualified for breaking one of the game’s cardinal rules.

In a scene resembling that of kindergarten children, Roki and Maneta splashed fluids on each other after having been warned on several occasions by Biggie to stop squabbling and feuding.

They both shamefully returned home last week after receiving treatment, Roki for his “bleached” eyes and Maneta for anger issues. As Zimbabweans were last week united in denouncing the two for their deplorable behaviour, their expulsion once again brought to the fore the question of whether housemates have any national obligation and, if so, to what extent?

But while the anger by Zimbabweans at their own children is understandable, it is important to highlight the shortcomings of this season’s game as well.

Video : Roki featuring baby mama Pauline Gundidza

Despite being ousted from the BBA show, Rockford Josphats aka ROKI is a hugely talented musician cum producer with a very bright future ahead of him. With good talent management and grooming, he can easily become an international star of repute.

Despite his persoal controversies Roki has produced many hits that meet international standards in the RNB genre. We at ZimbeatNews wish Roki the best as he refocuses his life and hopefully he learnt valuable lessons that will help him bring out the international star in him. Enjoy a video he did with his baby mama Pauline Gundidza below:

Pressure got to us says Roki as he apologises to the nation

Apologetic Roki
Big Brother StarGame former housemate Rockford Josphas who has returned home after being disqualified together with Maneta Mazanhi who is still in South Africa has apologised to the nation after the two Zimbabwean representatives engaged in a violent act during the show.

The 27 year old urban grooves musician said he felt sorry for his fans who were rallying behind him as his fight with Maneta was not called for. Roki said he did not view his disqualification as an evil plot by Maneta but attributed the conflict to pressure in the house.

Forget Maneta, Roki missed a shot at Money - Pauline Gundidza

Missed big Bucks - distraught Roki
The mother of Roki’s children, Pauline Gundidza, says she has no ill feelings towards Maneta although she feels she denied Roki a shot at the Big Brother money. “For whatever character she was showing on TV I don’t know if that’s her character or if it was just for that time. What I can say is to err is human and to forgive is divine. I think we should all just put it behind us and move on with our lives because we all make mistakes.”

Xpandables featuring Roki

Roki is now at home after a disastrous outing in Big Brother Africa 2012. I guess whats left for him and Maneta to do is to apologise to the nation who stood behind them while in the house. Enjoy one of my favourite songs from Roki and Xpandables:

Fans welcome Roki back home

Disqualified Roki lands home
Ousted Big Brother Africa contestant Maneta Mazanhi was nowhere to be found at Harare international airport as Rockford ‘Roki’ Josphats landed at Harare yesterday evening.

Roki, with his mother at his side, struggled to make his way out to the parking lot as fans temporarily overwhelmed security details and screamed his name over and over again. Scores of fans mobbed Roki as they also on another hand demanded to see Maneta, who engaged in a disgraceful physical fight with Roki which resulted in both being kicked out of the contest.

Maneta’s whereabouts where not known at the time of writing and it was not clear if had boarded the same aircraft as Roki. Roki was mobbed by fans who had waited patiently for him, some for over an hour . Even as Roki was being whisked away to the Meikles Hotel where he will spend the night, there was baying for Maneta. "Where is Maneta?" Someone kept on asking. "We want Maneta! We want to sort her out."

Maneta was nowhere to be seen. ZIMBOJAM

Breaking News: Roki and Maneta disqualified from Big Brother

Zimbabwe’s Starmates Maneta and Roki have been disqualified from the StarGame for contravening the Big Brother rules.

The two had a fight earlier on where Roki poured water on Maneta and she apparently poured cleaning liquid on his face thus inflicting harm on him meaning that both face the axed from the game.

Biggie gathered all housemates in the lounge where he read a brief to them. He said that he had warned the two in vain, Biggie also reminded Maneta that she at one time threatened to stab fellow countryman Roki. A decision to disqualify the two Zimbabwean was reached at and Biggies announced that both should pack their bags immediately.

Roki Nominates Maneta Again

Zimbabwean Maneta is up for eviction this week after receiving the highest nominations. Four people said she has to go. Prezzo and Barbz are the others up for eviction.

Roki nominated fellow Zimbabwean again saying she was loud and was trying to break up Keitta’s relationship. He also said she was nearly taken advantage of when she got drunk.

However, Roki's been strategically planting stories amongst the Housemates, which led to them nominating each other and totally forgetting about him.Maneta nominated Prezzo and Goldie.

Roki clears negative image in BBA — manager

Roki
Before entering the Big Brother Africa (BBA) reality show, a lot of negative sentiments had been expressed about Roki, the Chidzoka hitmaker-cum-BBA Zimbabwe VIP housemate, but many people hardly cared to try and understand him or even hear his side of the story.

Roki’s controversy has largely been centred on substance abuse, and womanising, but the musician has decided to use the BBA platform to his advantage to show people the “real” Roki. Roki’s manager, Bybit Areketa exclusively told NewsDay Roki was deeply affected by the way he was misunderstood by people.

I wish i had met Roki - Evicted Eve

Eve
Botswana’s Eve who was kicked out of Big Brother says her biggest regret is not meeting Roki. "Ever since I heard Roki's song Chidzoka, it has been the only song in my mind and I wanted to meet this talented guy," said smitten Eve.

She ventured to say there was some telepathy of some sort between her and Roki which allowed them to "communicate" even though they were apart.

"We sent some vibes to each other," Eve asserts, even though they never saw each other in the house.
"I had a lot of fun every day in the house and I wouldn't have played the game any differently," the 25-year old marketing graduate said.

Roki is free to have sex in the house as long as he brings $300k - Wife

Roki’s wife, a phenomenal former club dancer, Melody Musekiwa, better known as Melo, says she does not care if he sleeps his way to the $300 000 Big Brother grand prize.

Roki and Melo have a seven-month-old son Dawn. In an interview, Melo said Roki, born Rockford Josphats, went into the game for the money and nothing else. “People do all sorts of things to get money. Some use juju, some kill innocent lives, some rape infants while some female rapists are busy harvesting sperm from men.

What Roki is doing in the house is absolutely proper, and if he brings the money home, it will be clean money,”said Melo. Said Melo:“This is a game, I know it and Roki knows it. We are fully behind him and we have been voting for him to stay in there and bring the money home to his kids.”

The eccentric Zimbabwean singer officially puts the number of his children at six with five different women, but people close to him put the figure for his children at nine.

Roki tipped to win Big Brother

Roki
Recently evicted Big Brother Stargame housemate, Mampi Mukate, has tipped Roki to win this year’s reality show. In an interview with NewsDay yesterday, the 25-year-old Zambian R&B singer, who was booted out of the show last Sunday, said she believed the $300 000 prize will go to Roki or Sierra Leone’s Zainab because of the duo’s interesting characters.

“These two housemates thrilled me when I was in the house because of their characters. They are special cases because they are weird, mad, insane and beyond crazy,” said Mampi.

Roki said he was attracted to Pauline whom he interchangeably called “baby mama” and “wife number one” because she is as strong willed as him.

Roki nominates compatriot Maneta

Roki and fellow compatriot Maneta
During yesterday's nominations, Roki nominated fellow country housemate Maneta for possible eviction. On the contrary, Maneta did not nominate him. She openly told other housemates, why she did not nominate him. 'Roki is my country man, even though we are fighting all the time, i cannot nominate him as i am loyal to my country'.

What do you think about Roki and Maneta's reasoning during the nominations. Should they nominate each other in the name of the game or there should be some level of patrotism irrespective of rivalry in the name of the game? Lets have your take on this issue. Leave your comments. Thank you

Roki and Maneta in ugly confrontation

Roki and Maneta
Maneta and Roki have had another altercation in Big Brother. It looks like Maneta and Roki are extremely fed up with each other, as the fight didn't even start over something serious. Roki said something to which Maneta replied "stop gossiping about people." Roki's reply didn't really make sense as he said "you think my people are acting stupid.
