About 350 people attended the event which was held outdoors at Platinum Lifestyle Estate in Harare’s plush Borrowdale suburb. The different sections of the pageant were separated by long breaks where DJ Flevah kept the audience on their feet with some heavy dance beats, with the idea being to make the pageant a party as well. And a party it was, especially in one corner where a troop of girls who had come to support Tanya, were screaming the loudest, dancing the most and dressed the flyest in really short dresses, high heels and fabulous hair to complete the we’re-here-to-party-look. All around the Platinum Estate gardens other guests were also responding to the music, but not nearly as enthusiastically as they responded to the curves on the ramp.
Each time the girls came on, groups of men surged forward, screaming all sorts of things, like the names of their favourite contestants or how shocked they were that it was possible to have so many curves in a finite space. But they had nothing on the girls in the Tanya corner who were so loud – verbally and physically – that they were the centre of attraction when the ramp was empty.
The all male panel of judges was made up of Platinum Lifestyle Concierge & Resident Manager, Trevor Hwiza, Heliflex Investments Marketing Manager, Tichaona Munyaradzi, former Supermodel, Jeffrey Nengomasha, ZEYA Direct Elegant Cars Vice President, James Pande and another former Supermodel, political analyst Simbarashe Nhau.
