Winky D, Stunner to spice soft drink gig

Dancehall star Winky D and rapper Stunner will headline at the Coca-Cola Pimped Up Promotions gig scheduled for Africa Unity Square this Saturday. Winky D or simply Di Bigiman is on cloud nine with the release of his latest album titled "PaKitchen" from which the plug track "Taitirana" featuring Lipsy, a lady chanter, has become an instant hit. Also Stunner whose real name is Desmond Chideme's presence will be more than felt when he takes to the stage with his "bling-bling". Also doing well on the charts with his chart topper "Godo" that features "BaShupi", the youthful rapper will surely leave the audiences spellbound. Another hot favourite billed to perform is Suluman Chimbetu, who is expected to entertain the older generation. The Coca-Cola Pimped Up Ride Promotion launched in October this year will have its mid- promotion draws in Bulawayo and Mutare at the weekend. The draws will see four of the eight cars and many spot prizes being won.

In Harare, the draw will see two brand new pimped Chevrolet cars being won. The Bulawayo draw will be on Friday November 25 at White City Stadium. In Mutare the venue will be Meikles Park on December 3 .
Bulawayo and Mutare will see one pimped "Chevy" car each plus a glut of spot prizes being won.
The promotion, powered by Coca-Cola, Delta Corporation and Mutare Bottling Company, is one of the biggest national promotions in the history of Zimbabwe. The grand Coca-Cola promotion is part of the 125 worldwide operations and 63 years celebration.

The final Coca-Cola Pimped Up Ride draw will be in Harare on January 15 2012. The Pimped Up Ride promotion is open to all. It is on locally manufactured products, namely Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Sparletta and Schweppes. Coca-Cola country manager Honest Marandu said: "Coca-Cola is happy with the massive response received so far. We are geared and are to give Zimbabweans one of the most exciting promotions in all the 63 years we have operated in Zimbabwe, borrowing from our 125 years Coca-Cola has been in business worldwide."

"The top class musical show will relive the entire Coca-Cola Mafaro Chete concert in Harare in February and Injabulo Kuphela Shows in Bulawayo in April at ZITF grounds this year. The Hifa experience will be relived, this time within the festive mood. "The promotion is another of our open happiness initiatives that is intended to go a long way in making our Coca-Cola clients enjoy life.  "Central to the promotion is the simple notion of enjoying an ice-cold Coca-Cola and taking a small break from the day to connect with family and special friends.

With this new campaign, that's exactly what we're inviting people to do more often - open a Coke and share a little happiness," said Mona Karingi, Coca-Cola senior franchise brand manager She went on to say: "The iconic brand, Coca-Cola, is saying, ‘Thank you Zimbabwe' and rewarding its customers with the cars and many more by just buying our sparkling beverages. The Zimbabwean experience is sweet with things just coming right. What with massive Coca-Cola new plant investments to match rising demand."

"The promotion has had a successful run for half of the intended three months so far. We have been humbled and overwhelmed by the response from the public. We encourage our customers to keep on following their instincts and continue to quench their thirst with Coca-Cola. They will be increasing their chances of winning. There are spot prizes at selected outlets like TM Supermarkets, OK and Spar nationwide," said Andrew Chinamasa, Delta Beverages' Harare-based business executive. (Herald)
