Beyoncé appeared every bit the doting mother as she cradled her daughter Blue Ivy Carter during a lunch outing today in New York. It was the first time the newborn has been seen in public and her mother made sure to protectively wrap her arms around the infant.

The singer dressed casually in black leather trousers, sunglasses and boots. She wore a black cap on her head to keep warm.
