Charambas to perform in Gweru this saturday

Zimbabwe’s first gospel couple, Charles and Olivia Charamba, the duo popularly known as Fishers of Men descends on Gweru tomorrow. 

The duo will perform at an afternoon family concert at Midlands Hotel that will see other gospel groups in Gweru warming up the stage for the star couple. The concert is set to kick-off at 12 noon, time which will be idle for children and their parents to attend.

Tafadzwa Marida, the concert’s promoter was upbeat about the expected show which he described as “spiritual fulfilment.”

“This concert is a first of many that we have lined up. We have decided to bring the Charambas first so that they can bless this project which will see the cream of Zimbabwean bands performing here in Gweru,” said Marida.

Marida has in the past brought to Gweru first class entertainers like Oliver Mtukudzi, Leonard “Karikoga” Zhakata and Peter “Igwe” Moyo. The promoter believes a family concert will bring together families who will through entertainment also get spiritual advice and blessings.

“This will be a rightful place for wholesome families who will receive spiritual guidance. I believe divine intervention plays the better part of our social lives,” said Marida. Charles Charamba who is currently flying high with his with his latest offering Pashoko Pangoma which spurn this year’s Nama song-of-the-year award.

Ricky Dabvu, Midlands Hotel’s general manager said they were well prepared for the family gig and promised Gweru audiences a blissful afternoon. “We have been known to give quality service to our patrons and this concert will surely live to its billing. “ It is a blessing to have the Charambas perform at our hotel,” said Dabvu.
