Macheso and Nox Collabo in the offing


HARARE - Sungura music star Alick Macheso is set to record a duet song with urban grooves artist Enock Guni aka Nox. The collaboration like that of Oliver Mtukudzi and Ex Q on the song, Panerudo will see the old and new generation combining with ease.Macheso, who was in South Africa last week where he played alongside Nox struck the deal in ensuring performances there.Speaking to the Daily News, Jethro Muchanja, Macheso’s assistant manager confirmed the developments saying he would help Nox here and abroad.“Macheso will work with Nox on his upcoming album set for release in September. 

He will be giving him a few pointers where needed and would also feature on one song on the album.  The song is currently being composed by Nox while Macheso will add his input,” he said.Muchanja said Nox who is based in South Africa will be coming into the country to do the final recordings.“The recordings will be done at the Last Power Media Studios where the two musicians will combine their prowess and it will be finished by September,” said Muchanja.

The song would be targeted at both the young and old. “Nox is different from other urban grooves.His music is dignified and touches a lot on important aspects of life and it will definitely be appreciated by the older generation that follow Macheso.  The young ones who follow Nox will also get a feel of Macheso on the duet,” he said.Speaking on the show they held together in South Africa Muchanja said the South African duet gig was a great experience which was attended by hundreds of fan“The attendance was wonderful, especially in Johannesburg. The young, the old, male and female came to the concerts— it had such a huge turnout.

They also performed in Johannesburg and it was a mixed crowd, mostly comprising of Zimbabweans,” said Muchanja. Nox has so far been releasing singles off his upcoming albums and the album set to be released in September is aptly titled Classic Love Songs.He will be going on a world tour sometime this month in which he will tour Europe, Australia, America and Canada. Alick Macheso is arguably the best sungura musician popular for his bass guitar and long playing instrumentals on all of his songs.
