Freeman |
Joina City hit-maker Emegy Chizanga popularly known as Freeman in showbiz circles is set to launch his second 14- track album titled The Last Man Standing. The album was supposed to be launched on March 3 at Barca Sports Club but it was rescheduled to March 10 as another local dancehall artiste Guspy Warrior will be also launching his album on the same date and at the same venue.
Hillary Matake, Freeman’s manager said they have moved the dates to give fans enough taste of the two albums. “Since we are doing the same thing and we are one we have decided to change the dates,” said Matake. Freeman specialises with Zimdancehall music which is a blend of ragga, reggae and dancehall tunes.
The new album is a compilation of his powerful single tracks which the 24-year-old musician has been unleashing in the past.
Songs which make up the album are Kuramba Ndaramba, Pressure, a track on which he featured Cally C and The Last Man Standing featuring Princo Spice, Handikundike, Kakandinyangira, Kuzvitutumadza, Structure, Risk Murudo, MaInformer, Takava Leader, Love of My Life, Vanondigaira, Blessings and a bonus track Ndomira Semukono on which he features Shinso Man.
Freeman became a household name after the release of Joina City on which he featured Cally C, last year.
The song Pressure is a continuation of the hit Joina City, a tale about a young lady who is impatient to get married while her lover insists on waiting. Like his fellow musicians Stunner and Ex-Q, Freeman is planning to tour America, Europe and Australia among other continents this year.
“He will start by holding live concerts in South Africa before leaving for overseas this year,” said Matake. The Zimdancehall artiste recently shared the stage with the Jamaican international dancehall artiste Mavado at the Harare International Conference Centre. (DailyNews)
