Peter Moyo |
Rising star, Peter Moyo says he has no time for women who throw themselves at him offering sex. He says his music comes first. He was recently caused quite a stir in Kadoma where ladies mobbed him with some offering themselves free. In Kadoma, Peter along with Tryson delivered a flawless act at The Odyssey Restaurant, winning hearts of many in the process. “When you are a public figure, it is natural that some women might love you but that does not mean you ought to be easily carried away.
“I am sure this happens to quite a number of artistes during shows but that does mean they give in easily. “I am a not a womaniser and I have my own principles even though I am not perfect. “My late father (Tongai Moyo) used to tell me that self control is the key to success in this industry so I would not want to ruin my life at such an early stage. “I love my fans and at the same time I have limits, I know where every relationship should start and end.
“Even after the show, my band and I left the venue without any of these women,” said Peter. Ever since Peter took over the reins at Utakataka Express, he has managed to maintain professionalism. In Kadoma police had to be called to restore order. Peter and Tryson delivered a polished act that left both Dendera and sungura lovers in awe. The Young Igwe, as Peter is fondly known, enchanted the crowd with his late father’s compositions while Tryson won many hearts as he played both his own stuff and that composed by the departed Chimbetus of song — his dad Naison, and uncles Simon and Briam.
For Tryson, it was his first outing in Kadoma. After being weaned by Alick Macheso, the Young Igwe was back in his favourite hunting ground. They pair, who complemented each other, justified why they are rated among the country’s finest. First to appear on stage was Tryson who sent the crowd wild with such songs as One Way, Mama Elizabeth, and Saina among others. Peter appeared on stage around midnight and received a rapturous reception. H METRO
