With a few days left before the seventh edition of Big Brother Africa (BBA) kicks off, followers of the show in Zimbabwe are in suspense as to who will represent the country. Last month, organisers of the show revealed this years season would be themed Big Brother Stargame and it remains to be seen if the housemates will be stars/celebrities or if celebrities will feature in the house frequently, not necessarily as housemates.
Meanwhile, rumours are circulating that there just might be three representatives with the third one being a surprise celebrity from each of the participating countries. Some Zimbabweans think musician Roki could be the third housemate to represent the country.
Last year, a rumour that Roki had been selected to represent the country circulated all over town, but unfortunately, Roki was not the BBA producers selected housemate. Besides the rumour about Roki, group members of a newly formed Big Brother Zimbabwean Stars page on Facebook are speculating saying that Zimbabwe will be represented by Julia Foya and Stella Mukono.
Unimpeachable sources though informed NewsDay that the housemates-to-be had been selected and that they travelled to South Africa three weeks ago for a briefing on the show. All the rumour mongering will come to an end on Sunday evening when the housemates walk into the house during a show which will be broadcast live on DStv.

The only star who has been revealed for now is American rapper J Cole who will perform at the launch. Besides that, organisers have revealed that Liberia and Sierra Leone will be sending in representatives to the show for the first time.
Also, Ethiopia has withdrawn from the show while Mozambique will take on a new role that will be announced at a later stage. Other housemates will be drawn from Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Over the years Zimbabwe has been represented by Tapuwa Mhere, Bertha Zakeyo, Itai Makumbe, Kristaal Culverwell, Munya Chidzonga, Vimbai Mutinhiri and Wendall Parson.
With a prize of $300 000 up for grabs, it remains to be seen who will walk away with the grand prize this year. Since its launch in 2003, six seasons of the show have been created and winners have come from across the continent though most have come from Nigeria.
In Season 1, Zambias Cherise Makubale walked off with the big prize, followed in Season 2 by Tanzanias Richard Bezuidenhout. Angolas Ricco Venancio was the winner in Season 3 with Nigerias Kevin Pam Chuwang winning Season 4 and Uti Nwachukwu, also from Nigeria, taking home the grand prize in season 5. Last year, Parson and Karen Igho from Nigeria were the joint winners of the show. Newsday
