Breaking news: Roki nominates Maneta

Zimbabwean Roki has nominated Maneta for possible eviction in Big Brother. He does not like what she is becoming in the house. He also said he was nominating her to protect her "since its going to get crazy in here." Roki did not get a single nomination.

Fans content with Teclar's eviction from BBA7

Most fans seemed impressed with the Big Brother Stargame eviction show results which saw one of the country’s three representatives, Teclar Mazanhi, evicted from the game on Sunday. Teclar’s younger sister, Maneta, bagged eight country votes, which turned out to be her saving grace while Teclar had no votes.

There had been a concerted campaign on the Big Brother Facebook fan page to have Teclar evicted and Maneta remain. Maneta was actually elevated to the Big Brother Upville house where the celebrity housemates are resident. There are no evictions in this house.

After a week of endless speculation, the Housemates were finally put out of their misery. The Princess of Zamunda – Teclar – was unable to use her ‘royal powers’ to save herself from Eviction. Julio and the bubbly Hilda from Tanzania are also on the next plane home, after only a week in the game.

Roki has been eyeing the ladies in the Big Brother House and is zeroing in on Namibian beauty, Lady May. Lady May has said she finds Roki “weirdly interesting.” She said the Zimbabwean was suddenly talking to her calmly which pointed to his heightened interest in her. She is alarmed by his interest.

Roki sang Lady May’s praises during his Diary session adding that she had cooked the best food ever for him. “She was shining for me today because of that food,” he said. When asked Roki if he was beginning to like Lady May, he simply responded; “Wouldn’t you Big Brother?”

BBA: Zim housemates break into tears after eviction news

The Big Brother Africa (BBA)(Stargame) show launched on Sunday evening saw 35 housemates drawn from 14 African countries walking into the house in style and unfortunately, the Zimbabwean representatives already face possible eviction from the house on Sunday.

Just when the two representatives, Teclar (31) and Maneta Mazanhi (21) from Bulawayo were trying to get comfortable in the house, host IK gave them the bad news the random nomination machine had selected them for possible eviction.

Huge turnout at Multichoice office as BBA fans pay for subscription

HARARE - MultiChoice Zimbabwe yesterday struggled to cope with the deluge of payments by Big Brother Africa (BBA) enthusiasts in Zimbabwe who said they could not wait to witness the  commencement of the reality TV show Big Brother Africa Stargame which kicks off tonight.

The participation of Zimbabwean urban groover and “bad boy” Roki in the reality TV show has set the capital on fire as Digital Satellite Television (DStv) subscribers swarmed the MultiChoice offices in Avondale yesterday.

Last year’s Big Brother Africa winner Wendall “Nibbles” Parsons has given a thumbs up to Zimbabwe’s BB Stargame representative Rockford “Roki” Josphat. The show begins tomorrow and Wendall expressed confidence in Roki whom he branded as a “bad boy.”

BBA Stargame: Who is representing Zim?

With a few days left before the seventh edition of Big Brother Africa (BBA) kicks off, followers of the show in Zimbabwe are in suspense as to who will represent the country. Last month, organisers of the show revealed this years season would be themed Big Brother Stargame and it remains to be seen if the housemates will be stars/celebrities or if celebrities will feature in the house frequently, not necessarily as housemates.

All set for BBA casting session

All is set for the Big Brother Africa (BBA) 7 open auditions/casting session which will run from March 9 to 11 at Meikles Hotel, Harare. The race is on to get into the famous house and anyone who wants to enter must partner with another person to be admitted as a pair. Like last year, this years edition will see each of the participating countries sending two representatives, but the difference is representatives will know each other prior to the show unlike last year when they only became acquainted when they entered the house.

Big Brother Star Munya pays lobola for real

After making sensational claims last year that he was never in love with his baby momma Adiona Maboreke and that they were merely introduced to President Mugabe as husband and wife, ex-Big Brother Africa star Munya Chidzonga has performed an astonishing somersault.  The two socialites, who are parents to 19-month-old son Pfumai, are not only back together but Munya actually paid lobola. The ceremony took place late January at Adiona’s grandmother’s place in Houghton Park in a scene that, according to Munya, was reminiscent of his movie Lobola “except this was real life”.

BBA Amplified ex-housemates to tour Zim

Big Brother Africa Amplified ex-housemates are due in Zimbabwe on a seven-day tour that is expected to be packaged for television. The tour, that has been dubbed "Still Amplified Zimbabwe Tour", will see the ex-housemates visit some of Zimbabwe's tourist destinations and resort towns. The tour will be made possible by a local company, Xtra Media Productions in consultation with Wendall Parson, who is the co-winner of the reality show.

Kenyan rep to the Big Brother Amplified reality TV show, Millicent has told the whole of Ghana that her Ghanaian Big Brother housemate, Alex is a very good kisser. “He is a good kisser, I am not gonna lie about it,” Millicent commented on TV3’s Diva Show, Saturday morning leaving an obvious grin on the face of Alex ,who was also a guest on the show.

BBA's Wendall Parson Donates to charity

Big Brother Amplified winner Wendall Parson last week donated three goats to the Harare Children’s Home. Wendall said he purchased the goats and had them slaughtered, skinned and cut into portions before presenting the meat to the home. “I have been making donations to the home for the past months. I had not made any donations in the past two weeks so I decided to donate the goats for the children’s relish,” said Wendall.

BBA Contestant Sharon O separating from Hubby?

Recently, rumours moving around like wild fire were that BBA finalist, Sharon o was on the verge of splitting with hubby, Ronnie Mulindwa. The couple of course quashed these rumours when they put up a united front at Club Rouge as Sharon celebrated her 26th birthday.

However, they say where there is smoke there is always fire. Now that latest info coming in is that Sharon's father, Salmon has taken over the management of her daughter's career.

BBA 2011 Contestant Vimbai Mutinhiri ventures into Music

Vimbai Mutinhiri, Zimbabwe’s Big Brother 2011 contestant, will soon release her debut single record, Summer Love. She has been singing since the age of five. “I have been singing since five but I did not have the confidence to record and I have also been busy. I have now recorded a single record,” she told the Daily News.

She said of Summer Love: “It is a happy song that has a house beat fused with African Jazz beats. It was inspired by Bongo Maffin.” Vimbai was confident with her record which she sees competing on the international level. “There are few Zimbabwean artists who have been nominated for Channel O awards. I also want to make sure that I compete on that platform. I want to release international standard material that would be considered.”

Former BBA Amplified Contestant Vimbai launches charity project


HARARE - Former Zimbabwe Big Brother Amplified contestant, Vimbai Mutinhiri is launching her charity project entitled The Zimbabwean Dream Campaign. Vimbai will launch the charity initiative at Matthew Rusike Children’s home in Epworth tomorrow (Thursday) with part of the money she received from President Robert Mugabe.
 She said the charity campaign drive was created by Zimbabwean youths and designed for the young people.Vimbai used part of the money she received from President Mugabe to purchase toys, books and sporting equipment to be donated to the children.“ The broader concept is to empower young Zimbabweans to dream. We want to encourage youths to venture into other sectors that are non-academic. There is sport, music and other areas that one can prosper in if one was allowed to dream.”
