BBA: Zim housemates break into tears after eviction news

Maneta and Teclar Mazanhi
The Big Brother Africa (BBA)(Stargame) show launched on Sunday evening saw 35 housemates drawn from 14 African countries walking into the house in style and unfortunately, the Zimbabwean representatives already face possible eviction from the house on Sunday.

Just when the two representatives, Teclar (31) and Maneta Mazanhi (21) from Bulawayo were trying to get comfortable in the house, host IK gave them the bad news the random nomination machine had selected them for possible eviction.
There are already mixed feelings over the Zimbabwean representatives with some people saying the two should return home. It remains to be seen if the two will survive eviction because
some Zimbabweans did not take Teclar’s boob job statement lightly on stage. Teclar said if she won the competion and the grand prize of $300 000 she would go for a boob job.

“Teclar should just go back to Studio 263, how can she say she wants a boob job on television, she is not proud of herself and we are not impressed. “She should just go back home and get a brain operation instead,” said Noble Maphosa on Facebook.

Carol Shelly Munemo said: “I think we just have to support them. They are Zimbabweans after all.”  Voting has already begun and to vote, people can log onto africamagic.tv/bigbrother.com or send a message with the housemates’ name to Econet number 33334 or NetOne 15626. The housemates will be evicted individually and not as pairs, meaning each individual needs to secure their own votes.

The Mazanhis will have to impress this week in order to gain people’s votes to survive eviction. Tanzania’s two representatives, Hilda and Julio, are also up for eviction. Zimbabwe’s Rockford Josphats popularly known as Roki is also representing Zimbabwe as celebrity housemate.

In a new twist to the game, an eviction machine will be used to nominate housemates for possible eviction unlike previous editions where the housemates would nominate each other. The new sytsem has already been attacked by some BBA fans online. “This system is very unfair because people may be interesting in the house, but the eviction machine may get them up for eviction. That is so unfair,” said KudaMangozho.

Another twist this year is the inclusion of celebrities who will be staying in a five-star house named the Upperville. The other housemates who entered the house in pairs will be residing in a house named Downville. Seven celebrities are residing in Upperville, while 28 are in Downville.

For now housemates in Upperville will be enjoying life with no eviction till Big Brother announces when they will start being nominated. Roki failed to impress on the first show. Crowds at the show did not praise him when he was on stage. Meanwhile, hip-hop icon, J Cole from America put up a five- star performance at the launch.

It remains to be seen if the show will be won by a Zimbabwean again this year after Wendall Parson won it last year and walked away with $200 000. This year’s show will run for 91 days and the finale will be held on August 5. Newsday
