Whitney Houston's last movie 'Sparkle' - Trailer

Whitney Houston‘s tragic death almost two months ago stings a little bit more when you watch the trailer for her upcoming, posthumously releasing film ‘Sparkle,’ which is a remake and centers on girl groups and the purely magical musical period that came along with the Motown sound.  Watch Whitney Houston in the ‘Sparkle’ Trailer

There’s plenty of Whit in this trailer. As Emma, she’s snapping her fingers and playing the role of mama bear to her trio of aspiring singer daughters. Emma understands their struggles, as she, too, tried to make it in the music business. We are also treated to Houston’s vocals, as she does sing in the film, as well. You can hear that angelic voice in the trailer and it’ll make you miss her.

So she’s singing and doling out advice, and beaming over her girls.

Cee Lo is almost unrecognizable in his role, thanks to his hair! Jordin Sparks also shines as the titular character. Houston gets top billing in the trailer. It’s a touching way to close the chapter on a brilliant career, regardless of her personal issues and dramas.

‘Sparkle’ land in theaters on Aug. 17, which is eight days after what would have been Houston’s 49th birthday. Culled from popcrush
