The late Tongai ' Dhewa' Moyo
The late Sungura musician, Tongai Dhewa Moyo (43), will be buried in his rural home of Sosombe in Zhombe on Tuesday, October 18, 2011. His body was taken to Kwekwe this afternoon where a body viewing will be held tomorrow.
A church service was held in Harare before Moyo’s body, accompanied by family members and friends, was transported to Kwekwe. Among those at the service were fellow musicians Somandla Ndebele, Sulumani Chimbetu, First Farai, Pastor Charles Charamba and Olivia Charamba.

In order to cater for Moyo’s legions of fans a mass body viewing will be held at Mbizo Stadium in Kwekwe on Monday October 17, 2011. Moyo, aka Dhewa or Samanyemba, died on October 15, 2011, at St. Anne’s hospital in Harare after a struggle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma which first came to the attention of his fans in 2008. He is survived by his wife Minenhle and six children.
Mourners are gathered at the late musician’s home, 24 Bauhinia Rd, Msasa Park, Kwekwe.
