Tongai Moyo's body to be taken to Kwekwe on Sunday morning

Zimbojam report that the body of the late Sungura musician Tongai Moyo has been taken from St Anne’s Hospital and will be transported to his home town of Kwekwe Sunday morning. Moyo passed away on Saturday at around 2000hrs at St Anne’s Hospital in Harare after a long struggle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
When Zimbo Jam arrived at St Anne’s Hospital at about 2100hrs, relatives, friends and family had gathered in the corridor outside the room where Moyo breathed his last. Among the mourners were fellow musicians Baba naMai Charamba and First Farai along with music promoter, Partson Chipaz Chimbodza.

At exactly 2127hrs Moyo’s body was wheeled out into the corridor and the mourners broke out into loud wails of grief. He was taken out to a waiting Passion Funeral Assistance hearse. Baba naMai Charamba consoled relatives and, overcome with grief, First Farai collapsed onto the tarmac in the hospital’s car park.

Mourners are gathered in Harare at 1 Hackney Road in Cranbourne. According to family spokesperson, Knowledge Chose, Moyo’s body will leave Harare for Kwekwe tomorrow at 0900hrs. In Kwekwe mourners are gathered at Moyo’s home, 24 Bauhinia Rd, Msasa Park. Zimbojam
