Jah Cure, Red Rat to perform in Zimbabwe in December

In what could probably be the best dancehall fiesta in the history of local dancehall, Jamaican stars Jah Cure and Red Rat are set to headline the Red Fox Sting Festival which starts on December 19 running to December 24. The two chanters are BOTH expected to bring their full bands alongside model turned musician Pascalle.

Pascalle is believed to be Red Rat’s girlfriend. The trio will be assisted by Mic Inity, Swagger Daddy, Tawastok, Legendary Sounds, Stereo One with Etherton Beenie, Twinz of Twinz and Judgemeny Yard. It is the FIRST time that such a lot of local dancehall sounds have converged at one place outside of the annual reggae cup clash held at City Sports Centre every August.

In an interview with H-Metro, the brains behind the show, Robert Zhuwao warned dancehall lovers not to travel out of the country this festive season because he has prepared BIG things for them. “I bring good tidings for this festive season and felt it prudent to share it with you my dancehall family. Don’t make travel plans outside Harare because that's where everything will be happening.

The Red Fox Sting Fest 2011 featuring Jah Cure (with band), Red Rat (with band) alongside model turned musician Pascalle supported by a whole lot of local acts will be in the country and tour the country,” said Zhuwao. He said the venue will be announced in due course as he was still finalising some logistics. Jah Cure’s inclusion in this festival will technically compensate for Beres Hammond's no show last month against the background that Jah Cure is a protégé of Hammond.

Cure is arguably Jamaica's man of the moment as he has spiced up every riddim that he features.
He is currently riding high on the recently released Before I leave track which is on the 2010 production Cardiac Bass riddim. He has released several sing along tunes like Longing For, Never Find and True Reflections.

After his release from prison in 2005 he has been on fire. On the other hand, Red Rat is a yesteryear great who has managed to maintain his vocal ability. Famed for popularising the “Oh No” chant back in the day, Red Rat has collaborated with great artistes like Buju Banton, Goofy and Ghost. He has endeared himself with local fans after he worked with young Zimbaweasn Abra Simmz and Jusa Dementor on the track Rise Up Zimbabwe. It’s the BIGGEST dancehall party this year and probably in the years to come. (HMetro)
