POPULAR RAPPER MASKIRI and his side-kick Trevor Dongo are set to exchange notes with Marondera’s finest chanters this Friday. Dubbed Maskiri and Trevor Dongo versus Marondera All Stars, the bash features Marondera-based artistes like Dollar Bee, Maborder Crew, Nyasha Zhuwao and Dragan among others.
But it should be mentioned that all the eyes would be on Maskiri who enjoys rave reviews with his hottest track Wenera. In an interview with H-Metro, Comoil Gardens manager, Percy Magawa said the event was meant to give Marondera-based artistes exposure.
“We are trying to uplift the artistes from our small town so that they can grow and mature musically. “We want to see how they have grown so far as well as affording them a chance to learn from other urban grooves artistes like Trevor Dongo and Maskiri. “Marondera has a lot of talent and that’s what we are trying to promote here in Marondera,” he said. He added that there were plans to bring more urban grooves artistes in the Mashonaland East capital. (Culled from H-Metro)
