Harare Weekend Outing


Thank God its Friday, revellers are spoiled for choice this weekend. Movado is in town and other shows are lined up.....Have a fun filled weekend.  

HICC
Award-winning Jamaican dancehall musician, Mavado will perform at the Harare International Conference Centre tonight. He will be backed by local artists, Winky D, Sniper, Guspy Warrior, Lady B, Jiggaz, Freeman and Lady Squandaa. DJs on the decks are Raydizz, Garry B and L Roy.

City Sports Centre
The showbiz scene will erupt into activity with a top-drawer gig featuring Oliver Mtukudzi, Sulumani Chimbetu, Munya Mataruse and Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave at City Sports Centre tonight. The event has been dubbed “First Gig of the Year.”

Tony’s Nite Spot (Portugal Restaurant — Pensão)
Located at corner Samora Machel Avenue and Eighth Street, Pensão is the place to be for party-loving clubbers. Check out the new-look Top Deck extension of the nightclub with hard dancehall, conscious, hip-hop and ragga vibes from resident DJs Gerry, Slow and Symphk — guaranteed to rock you all night long. Open-air braai is on 24/7 and ice-cold beverages are always available. 

Aquatic Complex (Chitungwiza)
Tomorrow, Mavado will perform at the Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex. Local acts, Guspy Warrior, Ricky Fire, Dadza D, Junior Fire, Godfather Sniper, Military SK, Lady Squandaa, Lady B, Inno T and Garry B will raise the curtain the dancehall star.

Red Fox
Mic Inity will perform at the Red Fox tonight at an event dubbed “Mic Inity Fire Friday”. Tomorrow there will be a “Slick Saturday” party. On Sunday there will be a “Mad Sundays” event featuring Judgement Sound, Legendary Sound, I-Randu, Badman Bee and Smylie.

Circus Club International
The club, which had been rebranded to Club Amnesia, has retained the name Circus and will tonight have an official opening party. DJ Chuckie and Trix will be on the decks.

Lime Bar
Situated in Rolf Valley, the Lime Bar will tonight host a “Friday Nite Experience” party with Harare’s finest DJs T-Bass and P-Styles (Bass & Styles). 

Upper Lounge
Located at Rhodesville shopping centre, Upper Lounge will tonight host the “Friday Upper Life” event featuring DJs Dee Vine and Flevah. The dress code for the event is strictly smart casual.

Fusion
Tonight there will be a “Fusion Friday Night Lights” party at Fusion Café. DJs Dee Nosh and L-Roy will be on the decks.

Shamva Night Club
Mafarochete Promotions this weekend presents Mashonaland Central with a rare treat when Progress Chipfumo performs tonight in Shamva. He is supported by Jesa Africa for the show. Tomorrow they engage Jah Prayzah for a show at Tsungubvi Hall in Glendale supported by Apolos and Ghetto Queens.

New Life Night Club
Alick Macheso’s calendar officially starts tonight. The sungura maestro will be at New Life Night Club in Budiriro tonight with his trusted lieutenant Tryson Chimbetu, riding on the wave of his latest album Nguva YaChimbetu. Tomorrow night they take to Galactica Warehouse before shutting down the weekend with a family show at Extramile Leisure Spot.

Mushandirapamwe Hotel
After the “First Gig of the Year” Sulumani Chimbetu takes his new-look outfit to Mushandirapamwe Hotel for a revival of one of his favourite hunting grounds. He is supported by jazz outfit Too Open.

City Sports Bar
Tonight the bar hosts Banyana Bafana while tomorrow patrons get the other side of musical comedy from Apama. Sunday is “Weekend Shutdown” with Banyana Bafana.

Kebab Centre
Tomorrow Kebab Centre will host a “Saturday Summer Jams” party dubbed “MaRasta at Kebab” in the afternoon with Judgement Yard, Legendary Sound and the Presidental Clique (Youngsen, Badman Bee, Smylie, Flevah, and Etherton).  (NewsDay)
