Whitney and Jacko were once in love

AS Whitney Houston was buried last weekend it was claimed that she and the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, had once been "very much in love". The claim was made by David Gest, a concert promoter described as a friend of both stars. Gest, the former husband of singer Liza Minnelli, told The Sun newspaper that Houston had loved Jackson and he had "adored" her.

"I think she really wanted to marry him but, although he had a crush on her, he was too shy. Later he confessed to me he should have made a move." Gest said Jackson had told him that they had shared a passionate kiss and Houston had told him she was very much in love with him.

"If they had got together, I believe Whitney would not have done drugs or become a semi-recluse," he said. Gest said he was a close friend of Houston and they had shared confessions about the bad marriages and mistakes they had made. (Timeslive)
