THOMAS Mapfumo will perform in the United Kingdom for the first time in three years later this month. Mapfumo’s UK gigs have been beset by problems in the past – from his no-shows to cockups by promoters.
But now the Chimurenga muso has decided to adopt a new concept by putting together the shows himself and cutting out promoters. Mapfumo, who is self-exiled in the United States, will perform at the Oasis Banqueting in London on July 27 and at Starlite, Leicester, a day later, according to a schedule released by his daughter, Charmaine.
