A 19-YEAR-OLD Zimbabwean beauty has been crowned Miss Black Africa UK. Ruvimbo Sheila Chinzou beat a field of 25 finalists from all across Africa, including three Zimbabweans at a function held in London. Ruvimbo arrived in the UK 10 years ago and was raised by her mum who is widowed.“Through my mother, I have learnt to be a strong woman driven by a determination to succeed in the most difficult circumstances,” she said.
She impressed judges across four categories – swim wear, African wear, evening wear and an on-stage interview. Ruvimbo was second runner up in the Miss Teen UK 2008 pageant, which inspired her to audition for Miss Black Africa back in July.
