Abba to rock South Africa

THE Johannesburg Theatre celebrates its 50th anniversary with the best and diverse array of productions.
The international Abba Show performed by the Abbasolutely Fabbaulous cast, kicks off the celebrations at The Mandela Theatre at the Joburg Theatre in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, on January 18, and runs until February 5.

Abba, the group, has inspired many stories that have been told through theatre and even through a film. It has been 28 years since the Swedish pop group, founded in 1970 in Stockholm, disbanded, but their music is still in great demand worldwide. The quartet of Agnetha Faltskog, Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, has enthralled many generations of fans with their music.

Abba fans will be taken down memory lane, complete with those wonderful costumes, flares, boots and disco balls when watching Abba Show. Like the film Mama Mia, the show revives the magic of the 1970s and 1980s with best-loved renditions such as Dancing Queen, Waterloo, Fernando, Mama Mia, SOS, Money, Money, Money, I have a Dream, Super Trouper and Chiquitita among others.
