Flavour jets in Harare on Friday

Flavour
Nigerian musician Flavour is expected in Zimbabwe on Friday morning for his one-off show in Harare with two of the country’s greatest crooners — Oliver Mtukudzi and Alexio Kawara. The show, to be held at the Andy Millar Hall on Friday night is expected to illuminate the city, which will also be playing host to some of the world’s greatest footballers, who will be in Zimbabwe to attend Benjani Mwaruwari’s Testimonial Match.

Flavour, born Chinedu Okoli, has already made his final arrangements for his maiden visit to Zimbabwe. He recently released a video clip on YouTube, confirming his trip to Harare. In the video, titled “Flavour’s Message 2 Zimbabwe”, which his fans can also view on the show’s Facebook Page, “Flavour Zim Concert”, Flavour said he was ready to rock Harare.

Show organiser Joseph Habis said Flavour was originally expected to jet in Harare on Thursday, but will now arrive on Friday morning. “Flavour has been on a tour of Canada, which started on April 22 and ended on May 19. He only returned to Lagos on Monday night.

“He has therefore requested a little rest before embarking on the Zimbabwean tour. He will depart Lagos on Thursday night and will be in the country on Friday morning,” said Habis. The show organisers have since stopped selling pre-concert tickets, following reports of ticket forging. As a result, tickets will now be sold at the venue of the show, an hour before the gig starts.

“There has been an extremely high demand for tickets and that alone has been a cause for concern and we have since been alerted of a ticket forging syndicate. “However, fans should not worry because we will have many ticket selling points and multiple entry gates to ensure zero congestion.

Meanwhile, the show organisers said they were negotiating with organisers of the Benjani Testimonial match so that his soccer friends can attend the gig. “We are still negotiating with the organisers, and I am quite optimistic that something positive will come out. “Soccer fans will be thrilled just to see their soccer stars revelling with them,” he said.
