Adele’s ’21′ Surpasses 9 Million U.S. Sales

She may not move too many magazines, but Adele can sure as heck move units. The British powerhouse just passed 9 million U.S. sales of her sophomore smash, ’21.’

Billboard reports that Adele’s megahit is back at No. 2 on the Top 200 this week, marking its 64th consecutive week in the top 10. What’s even more impressive? ’21′ is only the 29th album to surpass 9 million copies since the SoundScan era began in 1991.

Adele has sent more records tumbling after her album 21 outsold Michael Jackson's Thriller, becoming the fifth biggest-selling album of all time in the UK. Sales figures from the Official Charts Company show the Rolling In The Deep singer's second album has sold 4,274,300 copies - 500 more than the landmark Michael Jackson album.

Adele taking a five-year break from Music to focus on her love life

After her Grammy triumph Adele has revealed plans to take a five-year break from music to focus on her relationship. The Rolling in the Deep singer wants to focus on spending time with new beau Simon Konecki because when she has prioritised her career in the past it has led to heartbreak.

Asked about her future plans, she told US Vogue magazine : 'I am f***ing off for four or five years. If I am constantly working, my relationships fail.  'So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy. 'And then I don't know what I'll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch.'
