Former Big Brother contestant Vimbai Mutinhiri’s single record entitled Summer of Love is out. The single was produced by Riverb 7, a local house producer. It comes with a computerised instrumental backing as she was not working with a live band. Vimbai started distributing her song last week on the social network platform Facebook and other sites for people to listen to it.
I also had the privileged to receive a sample of the song and what a gem! The model-cum-reality-star has been busy running around doing different projects and has nagged to find time to record music. In a previous interview with the Daily News Vimbai said she was working on a song with Ethiopian housemate Hanni, which is due for release. The song she said was inspired by Bongo Maffin led by Zimbabwean Appleseed.
For the meantime she has released her single a house music song embracing the summer season and how the season is good for love. Vimbai began singing at the tender age of five, but did not have the confidence or time to record. This is just but one of the many projects that she is working on. The lanky model is working on her perfume brand, a website and a talk show that will be broadcast on the website.
When the Daily News last spoke to her, she said samples of her perfume would be available soon. “My perfume is called Royale and it will be distributed from Plaza Pharmacy outlets and Image Pharmacy Borrowdale. Samples have arrived and I am excited about it,” she said. Vimbai launched a charity drive entitled “The Zimbabwean Dream Campaign” at Matthew Rusike Children’s home in Epworth, Harare in August with part of the US$10 000 she received from President Robert Mugabe.
Part of the money she used to buy toys, books and sporting equipment for the children at Matthew Rusike. With the Zimbabwean dream campaign she intends to go around the country urging young people to seek empowerment through education, sports and many other things. (DailyNews)
