Zahara back by Public demand

Zahara
South African music sensation Zahara makes a return to Zimbabwe for two concerts — one scheduled for Harare’s Borrowdale Racecourse and another in Bulawayo at Queens Sports Club. Zahara, who performed her first show in Harare in March this year, is back by what organisers said was “popular demand” and this time music lovers don’t have to wait for long before she hits the stage.

The Harare gig will be held on August 10 before Zahara and her band head for the City of Kings the next day. “She insisted that she travels by road because the last time she was here she didn’t have time to visit other towns,” Tawanda Chingara, one of the organisers said.

Zahara records a new song - 'Hold on'

Zahara
MUSIC sensation Zahara has penned a new song - Hold On - which she unveiled to the public at the weekend. The recording also includes a collaboration with American songwriter and singer Leroy Bell.

"She is an amazing singer who achieved success within a short space of time, a great singer and an accomplished songwriter.. I got hold of her music, and simply fell in love with her voice," Bell told Sowetan, ahead of the live recording.
Bell is best known for being a finalist in the reality programme The X Factor, apart from his other musical exploits. Zahara, however, said she was initially nervous about the prospect of working with Bell as he is the same person who has written songs for music greats Michael Bolton, Sir Elton John and the O'Jays, among other big international names.

"But since his arrival, the chemistry between us has been great," she said. Sowetanalive
